Occupational First Aid

Most people spend 8 hours at work.
Others, spend more than 12 hours.
That's around half of our day in the office.
Because we spend that much time at work and accidents happen..well..unexpectedly,
We need to be ready to handle such situations.

For this reasons and more, the Occupational First Aid(OFA) course was introduced.
First Aiders are very important in many situations.
In a factory for instance, a chemical spill to the eye could render someone blind.
Factures, sprains, bleedings, these are common injuries and in other serious cases, severity may occur.
In such cases, knowing what to do, increases the victim's chance of survival.

In the event of an emergency, would you actually dare to perform what you've learnt at first aid courses?
Would you be willing to give the kiss of life?

Hola, welcome to our blog.
What we're doing here isn't to market you a service or a product, we're not even trying to sell ourselves.
What we're trying to do here(which we put our heart and soul into),
is to market a number that we'd so love to change.

No, it isn't the rate of calories that we're going to burn, it is the rate of the total survival rate for pre-hospital collaspes*(2.6%).

For a developed country such as Singapore, it is very low.
We know the importance of lives and therefore we're inspired to increase that digit.

You.
Yes, that's who'll make the difference when
somebody collapses from cardiac arrest.
It is not just the skills that you've learnt from
first aid courses that matter, it is having the confidence to do so.
Every moment of your hesitance affects a
casualty's rate of survival.
"With each minute that passes, the chance of survival
decreases by up to 10 per cent." *

What we want to do here, is not to just to impart to you the relevant skills but also give you the confidence to do so.
You, will be the first point of contact before
the paramedics arrive at the scene.
You, can make the difference and increase the survival rate too.
If like us, you are inspired to make a change,
let us work hand-in-hand.
Our goal is not seperate.

which we can collaborate on.
Do not hesitate even if it's just about knowing
how you can make a difference.

First American Heart Association Course

On April 11th 2008, Singapore First Aid Training Centre successfully launched the first American Heart Association Heart savers AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Course to the public.
The course was conducted with great success and received many positive comments about the course.
We at SFATC would like to thank the participants for giving out such great effort in completing the course.
Our trainer are all looking forward to conduct the next AHA course.
